ScrubHub Independent Contractor Agreement

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This Independent Contractor Agreement ("Agreement") is between ScrubHub ("ScrubHub," "we") and you, the individual applying to offer cleaning services through the ScrubHub platform as a ScrubHub Pro ("Pro," "you").

1. Independent contractor relationship

You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, joint venturer, or partner of ScrubHub.

You will be treated as a 1099 independent contractor for tax purposes.

You are responsible for paying all of your own federal, state, and local taxes on the earnings you receive through ScrubHub, including self-employment taxes. ScrubHub will not withhold taxes from your earnings.

You are responsible for getting and keeping any business licenses, permits, and registrations required where you live or work (for example, a city or county business license or a home occupation permit), and for paying any related fees and local business taxes. ScrubHub provides a guide to local requirements in the app as a courtesy; it is not legal or tax advice, and ScrubHub does not check whether you hold these licenses unless it tells you otherwise.

Nothing in this Agreement entitles you to employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance.

2. You control your work

You decide whether and when to go online.

You choose which jobs to accept. You may decline any job without penalty.

You set your own service radius.

There are no required schedules, minimum hours, or uniforms.

You decide how to perform the cleaning, consistent with the service tier the Client booked.

You supply your own cleaning products and equipment, unless a Client asks you to use theirs.

You may offer services through other platforms or on your own at any time.

3. Earnings

For each completed job, you earn a percentage of the service price as shown in the app before you accept the job, plus 100% of any tip.

Card processing fees are paid by ScrubHub and are never deducted from your earnings or tips.

Earnings are paid through Stripe. Payouts are sent daily at no cost to you. Optional instant cash-out may have a fee, which is always shown before you confirm.

Stripe collects your tax information (W-9) and provides your Form 1099. ScrubHub never stores your Social Security number or tax ID.

Amounts you owe under Section 7 (damage, loss, or theft you are responsible for) may be deducted from your earnings, as described there.

4. Application review and screening

ScrubHub reviews every application and decides whether to approve it. ScrubHub may also require a background check before or after approval. If so, it will be run by a third-party background check company only with your separate written consent, at no cost to you. ScrubHub never stores your Social Security number.

5. Ratings

Client ratings are used only to maintain quality and safety on the platform.

6. Conduct and safety

You agree to treat Clients and their homes with respect, follow all applicable laws, and report any safety issue through the app. Before each job, the app shows a short reminder of these standards, which you must acknowledge. In particular, you agree to:

Clean carefully and take reasonable care with the Client's home and belongings.

Never take, borrow, or use anything that belongs to the Client, other than cleaning products they ask you to use.

Take the required "before" photos and report any damage you find before you start.

Report any damage you cause to ScrubHub through the app right away.

ScrubHub may deactivate access to the platform for safety, fraud, theft, or violations of this Agreement, and may report suspected crimes to the police.

7. Insurance and liability

You are responsible for damage, loss, or theft you cause. If a Client reports damage to or loss of their property during your job, ScrubHub will review the report, including the job's before and after photos and your side of what happened. If ScrubHub reasonably determines that you are responsible, you agree that ScrubHub may recover the cost of repair, replacement, or the Client's refund (up to the amount of the Client's loss) by:

1. Deducting it from your earnings, including earnings from that job or future jobs; and 2. Charging the payment card you keep on file with ScrubHub (through Stripe) for any amount your earnings don't cover.

You must keep a valid payment card on file to accept jobs. ScrubHub will notify you in the app, with the amount and reason, before or when any deduction or charge is made, and you can dispute it through the app's Help.

Theft or intentional damage results in permanent removal from ScrubHub, may be reported to the police, and you remain responsible for the full loss.

8. Ending this Agreement

Either you or ScrubHub may end this Agreement at any time. You can close your account in the app.

9. Governing law and disputes

[Placeholder — a lawyer should draft this section (Virginia law) and any arbitration terms.]

10. Electronic signature

By checking the agreement box and typing your full legal name in the app, you are signing this Agreement electronically. Your signature has the same effect as a handwritten signature. We save the date and time you signed.
